This year’s Dimensional Insight Users Conference (DIUC) is in the books – what a whirlwind week for Dimensional Insight and our customers!
DIUC19 was held over four days at the Boston Marriott Copley Place in downtown Boston. Our agenda included on-site training, customer case studies, and technology sessions. Now that I’ve had a chance to decompress after the event and think about the week, here are my reflections on DIUC19.
New technology
One comment that I heard from many of the customers who attended DIUC19 was how excited they are to use some of our new technology features.
These include our new “stamps”, which allow users to create self-service dashboards customized to their specific role.
It also includes our new assisted analytics capability. With this, artificial intelligence built into our product will analyze data points and proactively notify users if there are trends they should further investigate.
Customer user stories
We had 10 customers speak on Tuesday afternoon about their experiences with the Dimensional Insight platform and applications. Some of the compelling uses of analytics includes:
- Supporting a hospital’s strategic goals by enabling better decision-making through each area of focus for the hospital.
- Enabling greater insight into value-based payment bundles.
- Tracking sources of faculty funding at a university.
- Gaining insight into promotions and sales data at a wine & spirits distributor.
I always love user story time at DIUC, because it enables customers to see from their peers how they are seeing real results from their analytics implementations.
30 years in business
2019 marks the 30th year that Dimensional Insight has been in business. At the conference, Fred and Stan took everyone through some of the history of Dimensional Insight. It’s amazing to see what has changed in the last 30 years and what has stayed the same.

Of course, we also celebrated too! We had a great dinner at the Top of the Hub, which provided amazing views of Boston and beyond from the top of the Prudential Tower. And what’s a birthday without cake? It was great to see Fred and Stan blow out the candles on Dimensional Insight’s 30th birthday cake.

Thank you to our customers
At DIUC19, Fred noted how many customers have come to years and years of our user conferences. It’s always great to see many of the same faces at each conference and catch up with each of these people, but also nice to see and talk to so many new faces as well.
I’d like to wrap up by extending a huge thank you to all of our customers. Our 30 years in business would not be possible without you, and without the great results that you are seeing through analytics. Here’s to even more success in the future!
