HIMSS19 will be held Feb. 11-15 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida. As in previous years, Dimensional Insight will have a strong presence at the conference and we will be demonstrating our technology on the show floor. What else are we looking forward to at HIMSS19? Here’s a look.

Keynotes

HIMSS19 will kick off the general session on Tuesday, Feb. 12 with the opening keynote titled, “Will Consumer-Directed Exchange Disrupt the Healthcare Marketplace?” A lot of the discussion in healthcare recently has been centered around patient empowerment and engagement and how providers can deliver more patient-centric technology. This opening keynote will focus on this topic as well as look at the policy impact.

Later Tuesday, Alex Azar, secretary of Health and Human Services, and Seema Verma, administrator of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) will discuss interoperability and patient engagement. Last year, Verma took to the HIMSS stage to talk about the Trump administration’s push for interoperability. It will interesting to see what progress has been made.

Key sessions

There are hundreds of educational sessions on the HIMSS19 calendar, including several on analytics and advanced analytics. One thing that I have learned from my several visits to HIMSS is that there is never a shortage of sessions to attend!

Some of the educational opportunities I have marked on my calendar include topics around how analytics is being used to address the opioid crisis, how AI and EHR data are being used to detect cancer, and how population health registries are being used to improve pediatric population outcomes.

Dimensional Insight at HIMSS19

Dimensional Insight will be at HIMSS19 in booth #4358, right in the middle of the HIMSS show floor. We will be hard to miss! We’ll be showing off some exciting technology developments around self-service analytics that you’ll want to see.

The theme of our booth this year is “Mission Impossible” and how we help healthcare organizations with their impossible missions. This fits well with the overall HIMSS19 theme, “Champions of Health Unite,” which is all about empowering health leaders to enact positive change in their organizations.
