Meet Tomeka Munford — an analytics pro who’s all about turning data into something people actually want to use. From customizing training sessions to building real-world use cases, she brings a ton of experience and energy to everything she does. We sat down with Tomeka to hear more about her journey, her favorite projects, and what keeps her excited about the world of data.
Q: Can you tell me a bit about what you do?
As a Senior Consultant, I customize and deliver training programs to help customers fully leverage our analytics tools. I also assist with customer success by supporting implementations, giving product demonstrations, and ensuring users feel confident and empowered as they work with their data.
Q: How did your career path lead you to Dimensional Insight?
Before joining Dimensional Insight, I spent over 14 years as a go-to analytics person at a wine and spirits distributor, using DI tools daily. That experience gave me a deep understanding of our products and the challenges our customers face. This made joining the DI team a natural next step.
Q: What does a day in your role as a Senior Consultant typically look like?
No two days are alike! Some days I facilitate live or virtual training sessions and other days I’m learning a new skill or staying current on new features and best practices. I also collaborate with different departments at Dimensional Insight to make sure we are delivering the best possible experience to our customers.
Q: What’s one project you’re especially proud of?
Creating use cases for Analysis Tables in version 8.0 has been both challenging and rewarding. There are several new features that will elevate our customers’ DivePort installations. It’s exciting to help show what’s possible and how these updates can make a real impact.
Q: How do you help clients align data strategies with their business goals?
I support clients by providing training, guidance, and practical examples that show how to apply Dimensional Insight’s tools to their specific needs. I help them understand how to use their data more effectively, so it supports their goals and makes day-to-day decision-making easier.
Q: What do you think makes Dimensional Insight’s approach unique?
Our solutions aren’t one-size-fits-all. We tailor each implementation to the customer’s specific needs and industry, and we’re deeply invested in long-term relationships, not just delivering a tool.
Q: Any advice for organizations looking to get more value from their data?
Start with clarity by defining what questions you’re trying to answer and who needs the insights. Then build your analytics strategy around those needs while keeping usability and adoption top of mind.
Q: What excites you most about the future of analytics?
I’m excited about the shift toward real-time insights and predictive analytics. The more proactive organizations can be with their data, the more agile and competitive they’ll become.
Q: What’s a fun fact about you that most people at work might not know?
I was once an officer in a top 500 U.S. raiding guild in World of Warcraft, which placed us among the top 1 to 2 percent of competitive raiding guilds in the country. It took teamwork, strategy, and a lot of late nights—but it was a blast!
Whether she’s helping someone get comfortable with new tools or brainstorming how to make data more impactful, Tomeka’s focus is always on making things click. Her mix of hands-on experience, curiosity, and collaborative spirit is what sets her apart — and it’s clear she’s just getting started.
