Several years ago, we introduced employee profiles on the blog. It’s been a while since our last profile, but since our team is the heart and soul of everything we do, we decided to bring this feature back. Today, we’re profiling Alysha Rosewood, our dedicated Technical Support Specialist and Community Forum Manager. From the moment she joined us in 2021, Alysha’s been busy solving software issues, answering customer questions, and collaborating across departments to keep our forum thriving. Her fascination with technology began in a high school coding project, and she’s been hooked on problem-solving ever since. Now, Alysha channels that same enthusiasm into helping our customers succeed—one troubleshoot at a time.
Q: What is your role at Dimensional Insight, and what are your job responsibilities?
I am a Technical Support Specialist and our Community Forum Manager. I assist our customers with all sorts of software related issues from installing and upgrading the software, to troubleshooting issues and answering most questions users have. I also work with a multi department group within Dimensional Insight to maintain and grow our Community Forum.
Q: How long have you worked at Dimensional Insight, and how did your career here begin?
I’ve been working for Dimensional Insight since January 2021. I started working with the support team after everyone began working remotely. I had a laptop dropped off at my door and it was basically “join this meeting Monday morning and we’ll find out the rest then.” I did all of my training completely remotely and didn’t meet the team in person until several months later.
Q: What drew you into working in technology?
When I was in high school, I took a random computer course to fill out my general education requirements. For our final assignment our teacher had us download a tool for the first time called “Game Maker” and said work with your group and make me a game. The tool had a GUI that she expected us to use. Instead, I spent 2 weeks learning how to use the internal language (GML) and a little bit of C++, to make the most rudimentary 2D platformer. I remember being really proud of that game, and ever since then I’ve wanted to continue learning about tech.
Q: What’s the best tip or trick you would pass on to customers?
Google your error messages more than once.
Whenever I run into a weird error message. The first thing I try is Googling it. Copy-paste the message into your search engine, put quotes around it, search only pieces of the error. You’d be surprised how different the results will be if you Google the issue several different ways. Of course, you can always email [email protected] for more help.
Q: When you’re not in the office, how do you like to spend your time? Or what is something people would be surprised to learn about you?
I’ve been enjoying physical art and crafts lately; in particular, I’ve been working on improving my sewing skills. Drafting my own clothing patterns, cutting, and stitching the fabric together has been really rewarding. I usually end up making silly fantasy outfits — a gothic-style plague doctor, a giant wizard hat, and a silly patchwork goblin are some examples of outfits I’ve created in the last couple of years.
Alysha’s journey reminds us that all it takes is one spark of inspiration to launch a lifelong passion. Whether she’s investigating complex support cases or sewing whimsical fantasy costumes on the weekends, Alysha pours her creativity into everything she does. Her best piece of advice for those tackling new challenges? Keep asking questions, stay curious, and don’t forget to “Google it” from different angles. We hope you’ve enjoyed getting to know Alysha—just one of the many exceptional people who make Dimensional Insight such a dynamic and supportive community.
