Getting Started with DiveTab

As prerequisites for setting up a DiveTab, you must have the following software installed:

  • Workbench
  • DiveLine
  • Apache Tomcat
  • Java

To develop a DiveTab application, you need either a Developer or DiveTab license for Workbench. You also need to be a DiveLine administrator to perform the initial configuration tasks.

These topics get you started so you can start developing prototypes. Creating a live DiveTab application requires more planning and preparation. For example, depending on your DiveTab application, you might need to include some or all of the following tasks:

  • Create graphic files and add icons to Menu buttons for areas.

NOTE: Icons are optional, but they improve the testing experience.

  • Position files in the DiveTab project and give users access to documents and other media.
  • Define your cBases and cPlans, include them in the DiveTab project, and create Data Pages.
  • Set up the repositories in the hosting DivePort instance and give users access to document repositories. For more information, see the DivePort Administrator Help.
