Saving a Marker

You can save a marker for the current dive as a separate file, or if a DiveBook is open, an administrator can save a marker as a DiveBook entry.

If you are using the dive selector tabs to perform multiple dives, you have the option to specify one or more dives in the marker. All open dives are saved by default.

  1. Select File > Save > Save Marker.

    If a DiveBook is open, select To File.

    The Save Marker as dialog box opens.

  2. If necessary, enter a directory location in the Save in box.

    NOTE: DI recommends that you save markers in your home directory. You cannot save files to a different project.

  3. In the File name box, enter a file name.
  4. Optionally, click the Options icon Options icon. to set options as needed, and then click OK.

  5. In the Save Marker as dialog box, click Save.

    NOTE: If you are assigned is a home project you have both a home directory and a default DiveBook set, marker files are saved in your home directory by default.

NOTE: For optimal performance, DI strongly recommends that you save the marker as a file, and then link the topic file to the DiveBook using the Edit > Modify DiveBook dialog box.

  1. Select File > Save to DiveBook > Save Marker.

    The Save Marker to DiveBook dialog box opens.

  2. In the Area box, select a predefined area in which to store the marker.
  3. In the Topic box, enter a topic name that you want to appear in the DiveBook.

  4. Click Options.

    The Save Marker Options dialog box opens.

  5. In the Marker Info box, enter a description of the dive results.
  6. Set other options as needed.
  7. Click OK.
  8. In the Store Marker in DiveBook dialog box, click OK.
