Adding a Text Item for an Overall Total

The Text Item in ProDiver enables you to add a text value, such as Total or Date, to a position you designate in the report. For example, if you decide to edit a report to include a summary value item as an overall total, you might also want to add a text item with a string value of $TOTAL_STRING to identify the numeric summary value as a total for a summary column in the report. This topic describes the steps you can take to add a Text Item ($TOTAL_STRING) to the bottom of the Company column in the baseline report.

Complete the following steps:

  1. Open the marker file containing the baseline report with deleted items. Alternatively, open the marker you saved from Adding a Summary Value Item as an Overall Total to view the progression of adding back all of the items deleted from the baseline report.
  2. To display the report in edit mode, click the Lock/Unlock icon.
  3. To open the Add Item dialog box, click the Add Item icon and complete the following actions:
    • For Item Type, select Text.
    • In the String Text box, select $TOTAL_STRING.
    • In the Breaklevel tab, set the Breaklevel Dimension to Company and the Location to Tail.
    • In the Position tab, set the Column to Column A.
    • In the Style tab, set the Style Name to Total-Bottom, Horizontal to Left, and Vertical to Bottom.
  4. Click OK to Closedadd the Text Item to the report as an overall text string of Total.
  5. NOTE: You can save this report as a marker and continue with Adding a Date as a Text Item as the final step to building back all of the items deleted from the baseline report.
