Adding a Date as a Text Item

The Text Item in ProDiver enables you to add a text variable, such as the current date, to a position you designate in the report. For example, you might want to add a date to the top of the first page of the report. You can also configure the date to repeat on subsequent report pages. In addition, you can add more than one text item variable at a time to create a text string, such as $DATE $COMMENTS (Test). This topic describes the steps you must take to add text items for Date and Comments to the top of the baseline report.

Complete the following steps:

  1. Open the marker file containing the baseline report with deleted items. Alternatively, open the marker you saved from Adding a Text Item for an Overall Total to view the progression of adding back all of the items deleted from the baseline report.
  2. To display the report in edit mode, click the Lock/Unlock icon.
  3. To open the Add Item dialog box, click the Add Item icon and complete the following actions:
    • For Item Type, select Text.
    • In the String Text box, select $DATE, insert a space and select $COMMENTS, insert a few spaces and type (Test).
    • In the Breaklevel tab, set the Breaklevel to Page, Location to Head, and enable Repeat on Page Break.
    • In the Position tab, set Column to Page Right.
    • In the Style tab, set the Style Name to Text and Line Spacing to 20.
  4. Click OK to Closedadd the Text Item to the report as a repeating date with a comment.
  5. NOTE: By completing this topic, all of the deleted items from the baseline report have been added back. To finalize the editing process, you can save this report as a marker and see Adding a Report Title as a Text Item to include a report title in the baseline report.
