About CrossLink Click Actions

CrossLink click actions link two portlets on a page. Typically the target portlet shows a detailed view of the data displayed in the first portlet. When data is updated in the first portlet and the click action is triggered, the data is also updated in the linked portlet.

NOTE: If a user changes the view of the target portlet (for example, by diving, sorting, or changing dimensions) before the CrossLink click action is triggered, the click action updates the target portlet and removes the history of the earlier changes.

For the link to work, the data underlying the portlets must share a parent dimension to ensure that data values in the portlet containing the click action are also available to the linked portlet. The target marker must include either a parent window or a QuickView that includes the relevant dimension.

Preexisting markers, Dive files, or DiveBooks that were created in ProDiver or Workbench are used to create CrossLink click actions.

TIP: You can use action groups to control which values are passed from one portlet to another.

CrossLink click actions can be added to following types of portlets:

  • Chart
  • Indicator
  • Map
  • Marker
  • Matrix
  • Measures
