Controller Tab

In each of the Controller views, the following connection information displays. The order might vary depending on the view:

• Username
• Client Type
• Client Version
• CPU%
• Host Name
• IP Address
• Login Time
• Memory
• Model Name, which displays open mdl, cbase, or cplan files
• Model Path
• PID (Process ID)

The Users view (default) displays the connected DiveLine users and which DI applications they are using. Click the plus sign (+) next to a user to expand that user and display more details about access. If a user is connected via multiple clients, the Login Time on the user row reflects the most recent connection.

From this view, you can send a message to one or more users or disconnect them (at the user or application level).

The Data Sources view displays all open cBases or Models. Click the plus sign (+) next to a model to see which users are connected.

The Details view displays each connection individually. That is, if a user is connected to multiple cBases or Models using multiple applications, each connection appears on its own line.

To set Controller preferences:

1. Click the Preferences icon above the user listing.

   The Activity Settings dialog box appears.

   

2. Set the following:

   • Select or clear Auto refresh. When selected, set the refresh interval in seconds.
   • Choose how Count connected users is calculated—by Usernames or process ID (PIDs).

3. Click OK.

You can send a non-interactive message to users on the DiveLine server from the Controller tab. This feature is useful for administrators to warn users when a cBase or Model gets rebuilt, or when a DiveLine server requires a restart.

NOTE: The example here shows sending a message to an individual user application connection, but you can send a message to all connected users if required. You can also send a message to all users of a particular cBase, cPlan, or Model at the same time from the Data Sources tab.

To send a message to a user:

1. Select the user connection in the Controller tab.

2. Click the Send Message icon at the top of the user listing. Alternatively, you can right-click a user connection or model and click Send Message. Use the Message All Users icon to send the message to all connected users.

   

   The Send Message dialog box appears.

3. In the Send Message dialog box, enter your message.

   

4. Click OK.

   The message is sent.

   The message appears to the user as a Message from Administrator informational dialog box within the application.

   

You can disconnect a user or data source connection and at the same time send a disconnect message.

NOTE: The example here shows disconnecting an individual user application connection, but you can disconnect all users if required. You can also disconnect all users of a particular cBase, cPlan, or model at the same time from the Data Sources tab.

To disconnect a user or data source connection:

1. Select the user connection or data source in the Controller tab.

2. Click the Disconnect a User icon from the top of the user listing. Alternatively, you can right-click a user connection or data source, and click Disconnect. Use the Disconnect All Users icon to disconnect all connected users.

   

   The Disconnect User dialog box appears.

3. In the Disconnect User dialog box, enter an optional message for the users.

   

4. Click OK.

   The user is disconnected.

NOTE: When you disconnect at the user level, each application that the user is connected to is disconnected. You can instead select a single application to disconnect. If a user is connected with Workbench, an additional message displays in the Disconnect User dialog box to inform you.
