Email Notifications

Workbench Production scripts can send email notifications for events such as successful or failed nodes and scripts. Once email is configured, DivePort can also pass password reset requests to the Production service. A DIAL script can be used as a configuration file to define the authentication values. For more information about making a DIAL script to use as a configuration file, see: Mail Functions in DIAL.

To enable email notifications, fill out the fields in the Email Notifications section of the Server Settings > General tab (Tools > Server Settings > General > Email Notifications).

There are two options for configuring email notifications: Basic authentication or a configuration file. To configure email notifications using basic authentication:

  1. Select the Use Basic Authentication radio button.

  2. Enter the email server and port number.
  3. If your email server requires authentication, enter a user name and password for a valid user of the email server. For example, do-not-reply.
  4. Optional—To test, enter an email address, and click Send to verify your configuration. A dialog displays:
    Test e-mail dialog
  5. Enter the from address for the e-mail. If there is an @ in the SMTP Username field, the text box is pre-populated with that value. Click OK to complete the test.
  6. Restart DiveLine.

To configure email notifications using a configuration file:

  1. Select the Use Config File radio button.

  2. Click Browse.

    The Open File dialog opens.

  3. Select the configuration file.
