Editing QuickViews

In the Edit Dimension QuickView dialog box:

1. If you want to change the QuickView name, enter a new name in the Name box.
2. In the Data section:

   1. The Source, Model, and Dimension boxes identify the QuickView data source.

      NOTE: If you use an external DivePlan, DI recommends that you avoid DivePlans that have time series QuickViews defined. Otherwise, the time series in the external DivePlan overrides the time series in the marker and those external QuickViews appear when you open the marker.

   2. If you want to identify this dimension as a dependent of other QuickViews, click Edit next to Dependencies.
   3. The General dialog box opens, listing current QuickViews. Move the dimension QuickViews that can affect this QuickView to the Selected column, and then click OK.

   3. If you want to change the order of the QuickView list items, click Edit next to Population Order.
   4. The Edit Population Order dialog box opens.
   5. 

   6. Select Include All Values if you want the All Values option to appear at the top of the QuickView list. Clear the check box if you want to omit this option.

      NOTE: If there is only one item in the QuickView list, this option has no effect on the display. The single item appears instead.

   7. Next to Dimension Values, select Sort Up if you want the dimension values to appear in ascending order, Sort Down if you want then to appear in descending order, or Skip if you do not want then to appear at all.
   8. Next to Named Groups, select First if you want the named groups to appear before the dimension values, Last if you want them to appear after the dimension values, or Skip if you do not want then to appear at all. If there are multiple named groups, the DivePlan determines their order of appearance in the QuickView.
   9. Click OK.
   4. If you want some, but not all dimensions to appear in the QuickView, click Edit next to Limits.
   5. The Edit QuickView Limits dialog box opens. Select Limit Values, move the values that you want to exclude to the Excluded list box, and then click OK.

3. In the Display section:

   1. If you want to change the format of the QuickView list, select an option in the Display Type box. Options are: Pulldown A closed list with an arrow next to it. Click the arrow to open the list and select an item., Picklist A text box containing a list that is always visible., and Combobox A text box combined with a pulldown list. You can enter text directly into the box or click the arrow to select an item from the list..

   2. If you want to change the QuickView label, select a source in the Label Type box:

      • Select Dimension if you want the label to be the selected dimension name. This overrides the QuickView name entered at the top of this dialog box.
      • Select Name if you want the label to be the value that you entered in the Name box at the top of this dialog box.
      • Select None if you want the QuickView to appear without a label.
      • Select Custom and enter a name in the adjacent Custom Label box if you want to create a customized label.

4. In the Behavior section:

   1. In the Activation box, select the action that updates the dive window:

      • Select Selection Change if you want the dive window to update each time you select a QuickView dimension value.

      • Select Go Button if you want a Go button to display on the QuickView bar, and the dive window to update only when you click it.

   2. In the Load Value box, select which QuickView values are loaded when opened from a marker file:

      • Select Saved to load the saved QuickView values.

      • Select First to load the first value in the QuickView regardless of what values were saved with the marker file.

      • Select Last to load the last value in the QuickView minus an optional offset. For example, if you enter an offset of 1, ProDiver selects the last value minus 1 (the next to the last value).
      • Select Prompt Dialog to enable a dialog box that prompts you to select a QuickView value to load.
      • Select Prompt Value to open the QuickView with a header called <Select Values>. When you select a value, the header is updated.
   3. Select Automatically associate with new Dive Windows if you want this QuickView to remain active for any new dive windows that open later in this session.

5. Click OK to return to the Edit QuickViews dialog box.

6. On the Edit QuickViews dialog box, click Auto-Set Top-to-Bottom Dependencies if you want to set dependencies based on the order of the Select QuickView list. In this example, Sales Team would be set as a dependent of Product Class, and Salesperson would be set as a dependent of both Product Class and Sales Team.

   NOTE: Be sure that the order of the list aligns with the cBase or model hierarchy. For instance, Salesperson is a dependent of Sales Team, not the other way around. You can select a list item and click the Move up or Move down chevrons to adjust the list order if necessary.

   

7. Click Auto-Set Go Button for all QuickViews if you want to set QuickViews activation using a Go button.

8. If the QuickView is a picklist, you can change the width of the picklist by selecting Picklist Width and entering a number in the Pixels box.

9. Select Optimize Dive Order to use the most efficient dive path.

10. Click Close.

In the Edit DiveBook QuickView dialog box:

The Name box is populated automatically depending on the contents of the Type box.

1. In the Type box, select DiveBook Area, or DiveBook Topic.

2. If you want to use an alternate name for the QuickView, enter a name in the Name box.

3. In the Display Type box, select the format of the QuickView list. Options are Pulldown A closed list with an arrow next to it. Click the arrow to open the list and select an item. or Picklist A text box containing a list that is always visible..

4. The DiveBook box, identifies the QuickView DiveBook.

5. In the Activation box, select the action that updates the dive window:

   • Select Selection Change if you want the dive window to update each time you change the QuickView value.

   • Select Go Button if you want a Go button to display on the QuickView bar, and the dive window to update only when you click it.

     

6. In the Load box, select which QuickView values are loaded when opened from a marker file:

   • Select Saved to load the saved QuickView values.

   • Select First to load first value in the QuickView regardless of what values were saved with the marker file.

7. Click OK to return to the Edit QuickViews dialog box.
8. On the Edit QuickViews dialog box, click Auto-Set Go Button for all QuickViews if you want to set QuickViews activation using a Go button.

9. If the QuickView is a picklist, you can change the width of the picklist by selecting Picklist Width and entering a number in the Pixels box.

   NOTE: The Auto-Set Top-to-Bottom Dependencies and Optimize Dive Order options do not apply to DiveBook QuickViews.

10. Click Close.

On the Edit List QuickView dialog box:

1. If you want to change the QuickView name, enter a name in the Name box.
2. If you want to change options in the Values section, either enter values into the List Values box or reference a txt file:
3. To create a list manually, select List Values, and enter the list values in the text box.
4. 
5. To reference a file, select Values File, and Browse to the txt file that contains the values that you want to include in the QuickView.

6. Select Include All Values if you want the QuickView to contain an All Values option.

   

   NOTE: If there is only one item in the QuickView list, this option has no effect on the display. The single item appears instead.

7. If the QuickView is a picklist, you can change the width of the picklist by selecting Picklist Width and entering a number in the Pixels box.
8. NOTE: The Auto-Set Top-to-Bottom Dependencies and Optimize Dive Order options do not apply to List QuickViews.
9. Click Close.

NOTE: You can change the value of a Free Entry QuickView by editing the QuickView text box directly.

On the Edit Free Entry QuickView dialog box:

1. If you want to change the QuickView name, enter a name in the Name box.

2. If you want to change the default value, enter a numeric value in the Default Value box.

3. In the Activation box, select the action that updates the dive window:

   • Select Selection Change if you want the dive window to update each time you change the QuickView value.

   • Select Go Button if you want a Go button to display on the QuickView bar, and the dive window to update only when you click it.

     

4. If you want to change the width of the QuickView Text Box, enter a number in the Pixels box.

5. Click OK to return to the Edit QuickViews dialog box.

6. Click Close.

To convert all non-Time Series pulldown and ComboBox QuickViews to picklists, right-click the QuickView bar, and on the context menu select Convert all to picklists.

NOTE: Time series , label, and text box QuickViews cannot be converted to picklists with this feature.
