What Is a Rule?

A rule is a piece of information about the records in a data set. Similar to columns in a data set, each record has one value for each rule.

For example, a record in the Accounts data set can have rules called Account ID and Admit Date. Business rules are based on your organization’s data governance and they ensure that all users work with a consistent view of the data.

The most basic rules, called source rules are cBase column data. Measure Factory can add rules of varied complexity, such as calculations, lookups, and links to data records to create specific measures.
