MultiCrossTab Display

The MultiCross tabular display shows information that pertains to two dimensions simultaneously. The first dimension displays vertically in the first column. It is the dimension on which you are diving. The second dimension displays horizontally in the top row. You choose it when you create the MultiCross tabular display. You can also choose multiple summaries or information fields to populate the remaining column cells. In the following example:

  • The vertical dimension is Product Family
  • The horizontal dimension is Sales Region
  • The first summary is Cost Total
  • The second summary is Revenue Total

The resulting MultiCross tabular display shows the total amount of cost and revenue for each product family as well as the cost and revenue specifics for each product family, broken down by sales region.

The vertical dimension is indicated by the title of the dive window and first column heading (Product Family) and both summaries are indicated in the second row column headings (Cost Total and Revenue Total).

The name of the horizontal dimension (Sales Region) is not included on the dive window; however, its values are included as first row column headings (Boston, North), and the dimension name appears in the Console History next to a cross tabular icon. Each horizontal dimension value (Boston, North) appears in two columns, one for each summary value.

You can dive further on a MultiCrossTab display row.
