Opening NetDiver Files

Use the NetDiver window to open files including, but not limited to cBases, cPlans, DivePlans, markers, models, and DiveBooks.

To open a file:

  1. On the toolbar, click the Open File icon . The Open File dialog box opens.

NOTE: The available options on the Open File dialog box vary, depending on whether the DiveLine administrator has designated a home project. If you have previously opened a file on the server, the Open File dialog box defaults to the last directory visited during the session as a starting point.

  2. Browse to the file that you want to open, and double-click the file name; or select the file name, and then click Open.

NOTE: If you are using a touchscreen device to open a folder, select it, and then tap Open.

Note the following:

  • Security settings are inherited from DiveLine. If you attempt to open a file to which you do not have access, a Permission Denied error appears.
  • If the DivePlan related to the file that you are opening is already open, the new DivePlan uses the already-open console.
  • You can open only one project at a time.
  • You can open multiple files in a project.
  • If a project is open and you attempt to open a file that is in a different project, you will see the following warning:

If you switch projects, all open files will be closed. Continue?

If you click Yes, any open data sources close before the new file opens.
