A Closer Look at Data Pages

Data pages display data in a format specified by the developer. Data pages are versatile and have many functions that help you examine your data.

At the top of the page, a menu bar provides shortcuts to navigate DiveTab and access DiveTab functions.

This is the top navigation bar in DiveTab.

  1. Go Back to the previous page.

  2. Go to the main Menu.

  3. Options contains a context menu that allows you to add subsets and bookmarks, and edit dimensions.

  4. Output contains a context menu that allows you to share data through export, email, or print.

  1. QuickViews, which you can use to filter information by dimension value.

  2. Three column types, indicated by the background color of the heading: Dimensions (blue), Dive Dimensions (yellow), and Summary (green) columns.

    Each column contains a context menu that you can use to further explore the data. Click the column heading to open the context menu.

    1. Dimension columns contain string data. The context menu provides options to sort, find a value, and switch dimensions with Dive Dimensions.

      Arrows, The icon for divable dimension values., indicate that there is an option for diving on this value. Right-click the value to open the context menu and choose a dimension to dive on.

    2. Dive Dimensions contain the number of DimCounts for string data. The context menu provides options to sort and switch dimensions. Selecting the value allows you to dive into the data, and see the information represented by the DimCount.

    3. Summary columns contain numerical data. The context menu provides options to sort, expand, or collapse columns, and add a graph, rank, or percent column.

      • Alerts display values as above, below, or between thresholds.

      • Bullets show numerical information as a graphic, similar to bar columns.

  3. A sort arrow indicates that this column has been sorted.

  4. A chevron in a column heading indicates that the column can collapse and expand.

  5. A dive arrow indicates the ability to dive on a dimension value.

  6. Light blue-shaded cells indicate a link is present. Data page links typically lead to other data pages.

  1. Sections opens a context menu that allows you to view other data pages.

  2. Sync synchronizes your DiveTab client data with the server data.

  3. The current host name specifies the DiveLine.

  4. Logout contains a context menu that can log you out of the DiveTab site, clear the local cache, or change your password if configured for this functionality.

Here is a free form data page in the DiveTab PC application.

  1. Grids display specific values and data. Links are shaded light blue.

  2. Images can be included. Images, such as a company logo, can be decorative or contain a link. This is determined by the developer.

  3. Tables contain simplified tabular data pages, which can include dimensions and summaries. Links are shaded light blue.

  4. Charts can be included, such as bar charts, line charts, and pie charts. Links might be included. Hover over a line chart legend item to view highlight that line.

  5. Pages allow you to view information divided across multiple pages. Each dot represents a page, with the lighter shaded dot representing the current page.

  6. Tabs allow you to navigate information divided into groups.
