About QuickView Dependencies

When working with QuickViews on a factory-backed DivePort page, consider the following:

  • Two QuickView portlets using the Use QuickView Set option and targeting a Measure Factory generate two separate QuickView Sets. Therefore, there is no dependency between them. Dependencies need all QuickViews to be in the same portlet.

  • If you want to split QuickViews up in order to customize their locations on the page, you can use a non-factory QuickView Set as follows: In a separate project, create a qvset file with aliases back to the factory project to reach the all-measures.cplan or other cPlans in the factory-output folder. Then, you can use that qvset in multiple portlets and the dependencies will work.

  • Note that removing or renaming one or more dimensions can adversely affect the qvset, causing it to not work.

  • If a QuickView portlet uses identically-named QuickViews from different markers, those source QuickViews must have the same dependencies.

TIP: A single QuickView portlet can display different types of QuickView.
