What Is a Bookmark?

A DivePort bookmark is a feature that saves the path to a specific view of data. Bookmarks record the portal page ID, QuickView values on the page, and the user who created it. Optionally, you can specify if the bookmark is available to other DivePort users.

Bookmarks in Measures portlets also record the status of the following actions:

  • Change Dimension

  • Sort

  • Dive

When you or another user opens a bookmark, DivePort displays the bookmarked page and QuickView selections are applied.

NOTE: Access Control properties are applied to bookmarked pages. When a different user clicks the bookmark, this information is compared with their access control to ensure that they view the page data as intended.

In DivePort 7.1(13) and earlier, bookmarks are stored in the portaldb.json file. As of DivePort 7.1(14), they are stored in a separate bookmarks.json file. When a portaldb.json file is loaded, any bookmarks within are moved to the bookmarks.json file.
