About Proxy Logon

DiveLine administrators can use proxy logon to log on as another user. Logging on as a proxy allows you to view DivePort pages as if you were that user. This allows you to test access to pages and page elements for different user types. It is an easy way to verify access control settings are as planned.

When you log on as a proxy, the END PROXY (<username>), option appears in the title bar where <username> is the user you logged in as.

In the following example, the administrator is logged in as user jon.

NOTES:

  • To use proxy logon, you must be a DiveLine administrator or sub-administrator (not a DivePort administrator). For more information about sub-administrators, see Workbench Help.
  • All users who are licensed for data clients and are not disabled on the DiveLine, are available to proxy. Sub-administrators have access only to users they own.
