Idle Session Timeout

DivePort obeys the idle timeout setting on DiveLine. By default, idle timeout is not enabled for DiveLine or its clients and your user session remains active until you log off or close all DivePort windows.

However, if the DiveLine Disconnect idle users setting is enabled, your session closes if it is idle for the specified amount of time.

NOTE: Apache Tomcat has a default session timeout interval of 30 minutes. This is controlled by the web.xml file, located in the conf directory in the Tomcat programs area. It might seem appropriate to keep the Tomcat and DiveLine time-out settings the same, but DI recommends that you set the DiveLine timeout setting to be less than the Tomcat setting to ensure that you see the following warning message one minute before a timeout occurs:

Idle Timeout Almost Reached
You have been idle almost long enough for your session to expire.
Click 'OK' within the next minute to ensure that this session is not closed.

This provides you with an opportunity to keep the session open. If you do not respond within one minute, DivePort clears the data from the screen and displays the following message:

Session Expired
You have been idle too long, this session has expired. Press 'OK' to start another session.
