Adding or Editing Input Table Forms

1. On the DivePort title bar, click ADMIN > Input Tables.

2. On the Input Tables list, click the Edit this input table chevron for the Input Table that you want to add a form to, and then click Edit Forms.

   The Edit Forms dialog box opens.

   

3. On the bottom of the box, click New.

   An Edit Form dialog box specific to the current table opens. The columns are presented as defined by the table settings. Any constraints that were specified when the table was created appear in the bottom of the dialog box. If there are no constraints, Any form validation messages will be displayed in this space appears instead.

   

4. Click Edit Form Properties.

   The Edit Form Properties dialog box opens.

   

5. Enter a Form Name, and edit other properties as you like, and then click OK.

   Property	Description
   Form name	A label for the form. This name appears in the Edit Forms list and Form to use dialog box.
   Form width	Specifies the width of the form, in pixels. The default is 400.
   Form height	Specifies the height of the form, in pixels. The default, auto accommodates the selected columns.
   Background Image URL	Specifies the path to an image file on the server.
   Default row height	Specifies the height of the row, in pixels. The default is 25 pixels.
   Default label width	Specifies the width of labels, in pixels. The default, auto accommodates your data.
   Default input width	Specifies the width of the data entry boxes, in pixels. The default, auto accommodates your data.
   Convert form to Manual Placement Mode	Replaces the form Auto Placement format with Manual Placement mode. CAUTION: The undo option does not apply. In Auto Placement mode, the form fields are presented in a simple list. Edits are limited to reordering the fields. In Manual Placement mode, you can place the form fields wherever you like. Auto placement is a good way to start out with forms, but ultimately you might find that it is better to manually place fields. Manual placement mode allows great freedom in positioning the form elements on the page.

6. On the upper right side of the Edit Form dialog box, click List/Edit Fields.

   The Edit Fields dialog box opens.

   

7. From here, you can:

   • Click Add Field to open the Add field to form dialog box which you can use to add a field to the form. (Applies if there are additional table columns available.)

     

   • If the form layout is set to Manual Placement, click Add Label to add a label to the form. For more information see Adding a Label.

   • Reorder the fields list by using a drag-and-drop operation.

     TIP: You can use the Ctrl+click (Windows) or Command-click (Mac) operation to select multiple fields and move them as a group.

   • Click a field context menu chevron, and then click Remove to delete the field from the form.

   • Click a field context menu chevron, and then click Edit field to open the Edit Field dialog box, which you can use to change field properties , such as height, width, and label.

     

8. Click OK to close the Edit fields dialog box.

9. Click OK to close the Edit Form dialog box.

   The new form is added to the Edit Forms list.

NOTE: On the Edit Form dialog box, you can click the Lock icon to unlock the page for editing. You can click on a chevron on the right side of a field to remove or edit its properties. The Edit field option opens the Edit Field dialog box described in step 7.

   The Edit Forms dialog box opens.

   

3. Click the chevron for the form, and then select Edit Form from the context menu.

   An Edit Form dialog box specific to the current form opens. The columns are presented as defined by the table settings. Any constraints that were specified when the table was created appear in the bottom of the dialog box. If there are no constraints, Any form validation messages will be displayed in this space appears instead.

   

4. Click Edit Form Properties.

   The Edit Form Properties dialog box opens.

   

5. Edit the properties as you like, and then click OK.

   Property	Description
   Form name	A label for the form. This name appears in the Edit Forms list and Form to use dialog box.
   Form width	Specifies the width of the form, in pixels. The default is 400.
   Form height	Specifies the height of the form, in pixels. The default, auto accommodates the selected columns
   Background Image URL	Specifies the path to an image file on the server.
   Default row height	Specifies the height of the row, in pixels. The default is 25 pixels.
   Default label width	Specifies the width of labels, in pixels. The default, auto accommodates your data.
   Default input width	Specifies the width of the data entry boxes, in pixels. The default, auto accommodates your data.

6. Click List/Edit Fields.

   The Edit Fields dialog box opens.

   

7. From here, you can:

   • Click Add to open the Add field to form dialog box which you can use to add a field to the form. (Applies if there additional table columns available.)

8. Click OK to close the Edit fields dialog box.

9. Click OK to close the Edit Form dialog box.

10. Click OK to close the Edit Forms dialog box.
11. Click OK to close the Input Tables list.

If the form layout is set to Manual Placement, the Edit fields dialog box has an Add Label option that you can use to add a label to the form.

Form labels function much like form fields, except that they are not associated with an input table attribute; they simply place a label on the form. But you can move them, edit them, and delete them like you do with input fields.

When you create a label, you must provide a name and label text. Because the label name exists in the same namespace as the form fields, you cannot use a field name as the label.

The Label name is added to the list on the Edit fields dialog box. You can move, edit, or delete is as you would an input field.

The Label text appears on the form.
