User Licenses

Diver Platform uses license categories. Users can be assigned to more than one category. Each category has a limited number of users. To use different client programs, a user must belong to the appropriate license category. The license categories for users are set for the DiveLine server using Workbench.

The user categories are:

  • Developer—Can access Workbench and all Diver clients.
  • ProDiver—Can access ProDiver, Broadcast, and DIAL.
  • DivePort—Can access DivePort and NetDiver.
  • DiveTab—Can access DiveTab for the iPad and PC.

Diver Solution uses role-based licensing or tiered user licensing. The type of license assigned to users affects the level of DivePort functionality available to them, as well as access to the different clients. Named users are assigned one tier only. The levels of functionality for users are set for the DiveLine server using Workbench.

The tiered user types are:

  • Developer—Can access Workbench and all Diver clients.
  • Advanced—Can access ProDiver, DivePort, NetDiver, DI-Config, Broadcast, Scheduler, and DIAL.
  • General—Can access DivePort, NetDiver, and DI-Config.
  • Casual—Can access DivePort.
