Virtual folders, also called contexts, function as resource containers. A virtual folder can enable the Tomcat server to be used as a file server. Therefore, DivePort can access data that is located elsewhere on the server as well as files from applications, such as Microsoft Word. The virtual folder is mapped to the server Tomcat installation directory and files that are located elsewhere on the server appear to reside there.
