Dimensional Insight announced that Watson Clinic of Lakeland, Florida selected The Diver Solution™, an end-to-end dashboard, reporting and analytics suite of software, to integrate data from disparate systems to provide rapid information access on financial metrics and clinical reporting to organizational users. Prior to the deployment of Dimensional Insight's BI tool, the reporting process lacked automation and information was not centrally located making it difficult to access. Watson Clinic is now automating their information delivery process by integrating data from their IDX scheduling system from GE Healthcare (NYSE: GE), as well as their billing and accounts receivable system to enhance information sharing and support decision-making enterprise-wide.
"With more then 1,500 employees and over 200 physicians at 16 locations, time-to-information is critical in order to provide a high level quality of care," says Melinda Harrison, Senior Associate Administrator of Operations for Watson Clinic. DI's The Diver Solution™ offers users immediate access to key information through a simple point-and-click interface, which allows for better management and tracking of business critical metrics that impact performance, profitability, and operations. Watson Clinic has been able to take full advantage of the newest release of The Diver Solution version 6.2, which offers enhanced visual, graphical and design enhancements making it easier to identify trends and visually communicate information to any user - from executives to clinicians. "This new system should allow for quick and efficient integration of data from multiple areas. We will use this consolidated information to create reports with current, actual numbers that will enhance our management capabilities to define targets, forecasts, and operational goals," says Harrison.
"With The Diver Solution™ there is no need for additional IT resources. The product is intuitive, making it easy for someone without in-depth technical experience to access detailed levels of data without the need to request additional reports or information views from IT or Decision Support," states Ron Felt, the Director of Healthcare for Dimensional Insight. "Watson Clinic is now providing business critical information to key users through an interactive web-based view that is both actionable and timely allowing them to easily identify trends that impact financial performance."
Watson Clinic is currently creating a number of financial and utilization based views for users, including; monitoring available appointments, viewing daily charges versus actual and forecast, analysis of monthly forecasts by department and service line reporting. They plan to continue adding clinical information views to DI's integrated web portal interface, DivePort, to enhance their ability to provide staff with timely, role appropriate information that will lead to more informed business decisions and higher levels of accountability.
