Dimensional Insight customer WakeMed Health and Hospitals will share experience on leveraging reporting and analytics tools to better manage day-to-day clinical operations.

Dimensional Insight announces that WakeMed Health & Hospitals will participate as a featured presenter at this year's Health IT Insight summit in Savannah, Georgia on September 21st and 22nd. WakeMed’s Director of Clinical Analysis, Nora Lissy, RN, will discuss how business intelligence technology can be utilized to improve clinical reporting and measurement initiatives across the organization for improved efficiency and cost savings.

By using DI’s business intelligence solution, The Diver Solution™, WakeMed has significantly reduced time-to-information for key users by automating the clinical reporting process. Statistical reports that were once generated monthly are now being produced daily providing clinicians with timely, actionable information. “Clinical reports and views are continually being added to Diver. We now have transparency to data that we’ve never had access to before,” says Lissy. “In the past we were lucky to get the information within five to six days, now we can get information into the hands of our users within seconds.”

Attendees will have the opportunity to view WakeMed’s most successful BI initiatives, including an Operating Room Utilization application that generates ‘block’ reports allowing WakeMed to visualize scheduling errors or time allocation issues relative to each of WakeMed’s OR suites. As a result, WakeMed was able to alter internal processes to minimize communications issues ensuring surgeons were appropriately scheduled for the OR.

“The progress that WakeMed has made using Diver is a great example of how a business intelligence tool can transform and improve day-to-day clinical operations,” explains Ron Felt, Director of Healthcare at Dimensional Insight. “Health IT Insight is an excellent forum for health IT professionals to network, exchange ideas, and share best practices.”

Dimensional Insight's integrated business intelligence suite provides heathcare organizations with the ability to integrate clinical, financial, and operational data into a single view. Users are empowered to navigate through organizational data to quickly go from high level summary reports down to patient or encounter level detail with just a few clicks. This speeds the decision-making process by rapidly providing healthcare organizations with actionable information to improve care quality, outcomes, and profitability.
