Dimensional Insight customer Kalispell Regional Medical Center to present on leveraging reporting and analytics tools to support users with actionable information from their MEDITECH system.

Dimensional Insight officially announces Pat Mulberger and Suzanne Catalfomo of Kalispell Regional Medical Center will be presenting an educational session at the Medical Users Software Exchange's (MUSE) International Conference on Thursday, May 28 at 1:30pm in Vancouver, British Columbia.

The presentation entitled, "Getting to the Data – A Team Approach For Beginners" will focus on the benefits of utilizing business intelligence technology to extract meaningful data from a MEDITECH system to support decision-making. Mulberger and Catalforno will discuss the information delivery challenges facing healthcare organizations and detail the process that led them to identify and select a business intelligence tool to assist with their reporting and analytics challenges. " One key part of our process involves enlisting the aid of super users and what we call 'data junkies' that use the various MEDITECH modules. Building a team approach is really the corner stone to getting at the right data to support your users," states Pat Mulberger the H.I.T Applications Specialist at Kalispell Regional Medical Center. "This approach allows users to become the experts on how data is stored in MEDITECH's Data Repository allowing them to take ownership of their reporting needs. By appending our MEDITECH system with reporting and analytics tools we've been able to create an environment where information sharing between departments is maximized."

Pat Mulberger has an extensive history both as a staff nurse and as an Assistant Head Nurse prior to leading the MEDITECH HCIS build in a rural facility in 1995. She became a MEDITECH Consultant in 1998 and led multiple Client Server Implementations. Pat expanded her IT knowledge by working in IT as an applications report resource at Kalispell and has just recently moved back to Nursing to continue her work in Clinical Informatics. Suzanne Catalforno is the Pharmacy Informatics Specialist and part of Kalispell's 'Super User' team.

Suzanne has worked to develop critical reports in a timely manner that can assist in reducing clinical errors and impacting patient safety. The presentation will discuss the advantages and benefits of business intelligence tools and explain how Kalispell was able to use technology to facilitate communication interdepartmentally throughout their organization.
