Flexibility

Users are able to customize all reports, tabular views, graphs, charts and maps. When converting a display into a Report, the user is supported by Wizard assistance. Once a Report is created, the user can still Dive further and modify the Report display. The Report is like a "jumping off" point, because the user can click on various elements to display the underlying details. Reports can be created locally, and over the Internet. Along with the rich set of pre-defined report formats, Dimensional Insight allows users to format their own reports using the report template feature. This also allows data from multiple data models and sources to be combined into one report, along with graphs, charts and other visual items such as logos, maps, etc.

Filtering

Filtering is achieved in several ways. The most common is through the use of Diver's powerful "Find" feature which combines all boolean (and, or, not, etc.) and mathematical filtering features (> than, < than, etc.). Filtering can also be performed by using the "Group" feature. This allows any set of dimension values to be selected by the user and grouped for further analysis on that defined group. Finally, the focus feature allows users to focus on any set of dimension values and continue to perform analysis on that focused set.

Sorting

All views within any of the Diver interfaces can be sorted up or down by any column, including the original Dimension viewed and all calculated columns. Multiple-level sorting is provided with point & click functionality and can be ordered by any combination of any columns.

What-if Scenarios

Forecasting and what-if scenarios can be represented and calculated within the product. Diver allows the user to define time periods and calculations to control the parameters within which forecasts and their associated what-ifs are derived. Through the use of look-up tables and look-up Models, you can set-up any version of the future you wish, and then analyze your data based on that "what-if" scenarios.

Printing

Reports can be printed by the user immediately upon their creation via the "Print" command within Diver. Batch print jobs can also be set-up to run based on new Model updates. Finally, variables can be programmed to generate reports (via broadcasted email or to automated print runs) based on thresholds and exceptions that are programmed by the customer (or Dimensional Insight consultants).

Export Capabilities

The export capabilities include ASCII text (TAB, CSV, DBF), HTML, or PDF. All views contained with the Diver interfaces can be immediately cut and pasted into the MS Office^TM applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
