SKYY Spirits Manages Supply Chain with On-Demand Business Intelligence Solution

Award winning importer manages brand transitions and supports strategic sales initiatives with SaaS based business intelligence platform.

BURLINGTON, MA – APRIL 3, 2008 -- SKYY Spirits, an award-winning importer of quality spirits, deployed Dimensional Insight’s (DI) InterReport™ solution, a fully integrated On-Demand Business Intelligence (BI) suite. InterReport provides SKYY with the ability to create a single resource for all sales reporting needs, allowing the organization to stay ahead of the competition, effectively manage their premium brands, and empower their sales organization with a consolidated, but detailed view of depletions and product movement.

Through the use of a simple web-based interface, Dimensional Insight’s On-Demand BI Solution provides users with immediate access to key information enabling them to better manage and track their businesses, regardless of whether data originates from spreadsheets, extract files, ERP systems, third-party data aggregators, or other relational databases. The platform gives SKYY Spirits the power and flexibility of DI’s flagship reporting and analysis interface, Diver™, in a hosted environment.

With sales volumes reaching unprecedented levels, SKYY Spirits realized they needed a better solution in place to help manage their supply chain. David Lee, Director of Sales Administration of SKYY Spirits explains, “From a strategic perspective, Diver gives us the ability to plan effectively, execute the plan, and then measure our performance against the plan. We now have sales and marketing based initiatives that are tied directly to the data in Diver. We now have an organization that has successfully made the transition to planning-based sales, which has helped streamline our supply chain operations.”

While Dimensional Insight offers both traditional and hosted/Software as a Service (SaaS) options, SKYY Spirits opted to implement the On-Demand model. The end-to-end, hosted business intelligence package allows SKYY Spirits to integrate product movement and brand performance data from Beverage Data Network (BDN) and the National Alcohol Beverage Control Association (NABCA) with shipment, financial, purchasing, and inventory data stored in an SAP transactional system.

SKYY Spirits now has the ability to move towards a common reporting and analysis platform with a set of reports for all users – both those internal (sales and marketing) and external (agency partners) to the organization through the InterReport solution. This allows for SKYY to create standardized reports on brand performance, depletions, and distributors – each with a roll-up structure that allows field sales to look at information by state, region, market or account type. In addition, all goals, promotions, and special incentive programs are analyzed and tracked in Diver™, enabling SKYY Spirits to make evidence-based decisions on where to invest future promotional dollars.
