FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: September 27, 2007Lahey Clinic Implements Business Intelligence Solution to Enhance Quality InitiativesLahey Clinic integrates and tracks outcomes data with Diver Solution™ for Healthcare.BURLINGTON, MA – September 27, 2007 -- Lahey’s initial reporting efforts will focus on JCAHO (Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations) core measurement standards – Acute Myocardial Infarction, Community Acquired Pneumonia, Heart Failure, and Surgical Infection Prevention. Dimensional Insight’s The Diver Solution™ for Healthcare will automate the process of tracking these outcomes by integrating data from Lahey’s disparate source systems including their Eclipsys (NASDAQ: ECLP) decision support system and MEDITECH billing system. In addition, Diver will aid in analyzing benchmark data that is provided by Premier’s Healthcare Informatics unit, a national performance measurement and benchmarking company. By integrating data from its various source systems, Lahey will be able to analyze its data from several different angles. For example, with Diver, Lahey is able to view patient satisfaction levels for heart failure patients and analyze underlying detail data to reveal any differences in the satisfactions levels of patients that received discharge instructions compared to those that did not. “High quality care is extremely important at Lahey. Effectively analyzing outcomes data allows us to improve care quality. In the past this was a time consuming manual process,” explains Jim Vaillancourt, Project Manager for Outcomes Measurement and Reporting with Lahey’s Quality and Safety Department. “Distribution of data analysis is now done mostly in Excel spreadsheets or from standard reports available in our systems. Dimensional Insight’s solution is flexible and allows us to customize and automate this process to get the right information to the right people so that decisions can be made in a timely manner.” Outcomes data will be available through DivePort, Dimensional Insight’s portal product for easy point-and-click access. “We were looking for a solution that could provide our physicians and management team with clinical information in an easy to view format. The real benefit is two-fold: it gives us one interface for us to access data and it allows us to pull disparate data together. In the end we can see a much richer story of our care processes.
